Restitution of victims' assets to the beneficiaries
Any person who considers themselves the rightful beneficiary of a Holocaust victim is encouraged to apply to The Company for Location and Restitution of Holocaust Victims' Assets for the restitution of assets published by the Company, or else for an asset located in Israel about which there is information regarding its having been owned by a Holocaust victim, but which has not been published by the Company.

Applications for the restitution of Holocaust Victims' Assets

  • must be presented using a special applications form that may be found on the Company's website. The completed form may be sent to the Company either through the site or else printed and mailed.

Types of applications

  • Request for the restitution of an asset published on the Company's list of assets
  • Requests for the restitution of an asset that does not appear on the Company's list of assets.

Minimal conditions for processing an application:

  • The asset appears on the Company's published list of assets
  • A request for the restitution of an asset belonging to a Holocaust victim that is located in Israel but does not appear on the Company's published list of assets will be subjected to an assets identification procedure.

Eligibility for the restitution of an asset

  • The Holocaust victim indicated in the application (the relative of the applicant) is identified as the owner of the asset published by the Company
  • The applicant is entitled to the asset based on inheritance laws or other prerogatives he/she may have that directly or indirectly refer to the Holocaust victim indicated in the application.

Evidence and information

  • The Company may decide upon the application, based on evidence it considers, at its own discretion; and it is not subject to the rules of evidence.

Appealing a decision

  • An applicant may petition the Appeals Committee within 45 days of the decision.
